Wonderful week at The Stable
From the moment we arrived at The Stable we couldn’t have felt more welcome. Ronnie met us with a tray of freshly baked scones (even one for the dog)! which were delicious. As were the scones Ronnie dropped in for us every day. The accommodation has everything you need, was lovely, warm and cosy and has a beautiful view in a peaceful location. We will definitely be back here. We have never stayed anywhere with such hospitable hosts, we really were treated like family! Lots of helpful walking booklets etc in the cottage which we used as well as plenty of recommendations from Ronnie. Thanks Ronnie and Laura for a perfect week.

Paradise!
Where to start! The Stable Cottage is beautiful. All appliances and furniture is of the highest specification and there’s nothing else you could possibly ask for in a holiday let. The view from the patio doors is sublime and literally takes your breath away every single time. Great location. Hidden away yet accessible for so many places to visit. So, even with all that, what makes this place even more special is the hosts - Ronnie & Laura. Will leave you alone if that’s what you want but are on hand to help in any way. Ronnies freshly baked scones are not good for the waistline but they are so delicious you just can’t help yourself. He was great with our two dogs and even offered to look after them if we wanted to go for dinner. I’ve never met more helpful and friendly hosts. Although the Stable is a little piece of paradise, the hosts are what take this destination onto a whole new level. You absolutely won’t be disappointed!

A perfect getaway
Wow, what an amazing place! Laura and Ronnie are warm and wonderful hosts, who instantly make you feel welcome. The Stable is so cosy and comfortable, the perfect place to relax - the view and location are gorgeous. Everything inside is really high standard, including the most comfortable bed and best nights sleep I've had in ages! Can't praise this place enough, it was such a pleasure to stay there.

What an amazing place! Views are to die for. Slept every night with the curtains open because of the view. Stunning! Spotlessly clean and so comfortable. The biggest and best draw to the stable though, are the hosts. So friendly and obviously care very much about what they do. Nothing is too much trouble. Booked for next year.

Although this is a studio, the kitchen is separate and there is plenty of room for a couple. The fixtures and fittings are of high quality and all the essentials are provided. It's an extremely comfortable studio with very effective heating, making it really cosy when the temperature drops. The views are stunning, every morning we opened the curtains to a different version of the view on the lake and every day we sat on the terrace and just enjoyed that view. You also have no light pollution, so on a clear night the sky is full of stars. The hosts are very friendly and made us lovely scones as well as providing milk, eggs, bread and jam. We found plenty to do in the area (although we were blessed with beautiful weather) and we really wished we had booked two weeks instead of one!

Everything about this cottage is just excellent. The owners Laura and Ronnie are so welcoming and made us feel at home immediately. The view from the cottage is just fantastic and the cottage itself is extremely comfortable with a great kitchen and bathroom area too. Absolutely perfect for two people and I would absolutely recommend it to all.

Fabulous relaxing week away! 🙂
From the moment we arrived at the Mews we were pleasantly surprised by not only how stunning our accommodation was, which by far exceeded our expectations (the pictures just don’t capture how beautiful the scenery is). But also the love that has gone into making our holiday special by the owners Ronnie and Laura, from a bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge on arrival, a welcome basket and then also freshly made scones most days by Ronnie which were delicious. Other nice touches were herbs in the kitchen to use for cooking and candles to light in the evening to sit outside with a glass of wine, it is rare these days to find such genuinely kind people, thank you for a lovely stay and for sharing your beautiful views. Great location, we will definitely be back one day!

Excellent Place
Last August my wife and I spent a few days at the old barn. It was the most enjoyable holiday I ever had. The place was comfortable, beautifully decorated, clean and quiet. The view was breathtaking! The lake looked so quiet and peaceful. The owners were helpful in every way. There are several good restaurants in the neighborhood. We can’t wait to get back there.

Rural heaven
Just back from a relaxing week in the Stable cottage. We received a warm welcome from Ron and Laura which set the tone for the duration of our stay. The cottage was immaculate and the views are tremendous. Ronnie goes out of his way to ensure your stay goes smoothly and provides plenty of material that assists you plan your exploration of the area. The accommodation is pet friendly and our wee Yorkie had freedom to roam to his hearts content. Ronnie owns a lovely chocolate Labrador called Max who adopted us as his second family and this all added to the pleasure we experienced from our stay. Anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a beautifully presented cottage in a rural setting should not hesitate in booking this fantastic accommodation. Finally mention must be made of Ronnie's home baked scones which he delivers to your door on your arrival. They are fantastic !!

Absolutely excellent ! If I could give it a score of 11 I would! Ronnie and Laura we’re both lovely and even brought us homemade scones every morning! Excellent views onto Lake Menteith. Cottage was absolutely spotless and in a great location to the Trossachs! We will definitely return in the summer !

Delightful welcome from such warm and friendly hosts. The Mews was found to be spotlessly clean with a cottage feel and everything in it thoughtfully provided for our comfort. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure we enjoyed our trip. We had fantastic views across the lake. So peaceful and awe inspiring! And the freshly baked scones kept coming from Ronnie, added bonus! Would most thoroughly recommend. We had a great time with many happy memories to take away.

Spectacular Accommodation
We are regulars at Mondhui, but this was our first stay in the Old Barn and we were not disappointed. The views from the balcony are stunning and the quality of the accommodation is the best we have experienced. Laura and Ronnie have put a lot of effort into making the Old Barn "something special" with exceptional attention to every small detail. They are fantastic hosts and always go the extra mile to make sure their guests are feel at home.

Perfect ticks every box
Its not very often you find somewhere that ticks all the boxes, one of the cosiest places we have ever stayed in. Welcoming, warm and immaculately clean Stunning views, inside and out Dog Friendly (max will be chilling now that mad Murphy has left 🙂 ) Lovely homemade scones and welcoming hosts Laura and Ronnie who went over and above to make you feel that you were at home and who we now call friends. Absolute heaven !
I didn’t want to write this review because the old barn is such a gem that I would really like to keep it secret but that’s selfish. Laura & Ronnie are so warm & welcoming. The hamper was a wonderful surprise & Ronnies scones are legend! Up above the Lake of Menteith the views are spectacular. If you didn’t move all holiday you would still feel it was worth while. When you enter the property you can see that all the work that has been carried out has been done to a high spec. & furnished tastefully. The barn is an ideal base to see central Scotland & has been one of my best finds. Peter & I were in absolute heaven.

The cottage is quaint and cosy with the most amazing views. The hosts are extremely welcoming, kind and friendly. The surrounding areas provide endless walks amongst wildlife, around lochs and in amongst the forest. We enjoyed some of our best days here and can’t wait to revisit in the Summer!

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. Beautiful views at Lake Mentieth and the very friendly owner who suprised us almost every day with tasteful scones. The cottage was well equiped and had everything we asked for.

Laura has done a splendid job at creating an authentic cottage feel that is true to the roots of the cottage in Scotland. The interior furnishings and kitchenware of a very high quality and there has certainly been no skimping at all! I struggle to think of anything that could be improved. The only thing missing maybe is a two pin shaver charging point in the bathroom but I’m sure the owner could provide one of those.
The location is truly stunning and serene. I had been very stressed at work in the months leading up to the holiday and the view enabled me to relax and I left considerably more chilled than upon arrival!
Check out the priory in the middle of the Lake of Menteith, the island is extremely tranquil.
Lots of beautiful walks in the national park nearby, recommend Ben A’an and Ben Venue. Conic Hill provides stunning views of Loch Lomond.
All in all a top notch holiday at a great cottage, thoroughly recommend and hope to return one day.

A lovely, well equipped cosy cottage for two. The comfiest bed, with the softest bed sheets! That coupled with the peaceful surroundings, we slept like logs!
The view is stunning, which we never tired of looking at.
We sat on the veranda every night, looking at the view and watching the wildlife, such as red deer, owls and osprey.
Ronnie and Laura are such kind and friendly hosts.
Nothing is too much trouble to ensure your stay is perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Old Barn. Delighted with the Welcome Hamper and also the home made scones. The owners have given a lot of thought to the decor and furnishings. Every piece of equipment was top of the range and, although the kitchen wasn't the largest, it was perfectly formed. We weren't very fortunate with the weather so the washer/dryer came into its own. The view was exceptional and the recent barn conversion was designed to take full advantage of the panoramic vista. We were lucky to see quite a lot of wildlife as well. Laura and Ronnie, our hosts, were exceptional and made us feel very much at home. Our spaniel, Bruce had a fab time too.
