Boutique style cottages on a small private estate surrounded by woodland in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park

Our cottages, Gamekeeper's Lodge, The Stable, The Mews and The Old Barn are each unique and from their elevated position in the hills above the Lake enjoy wonderful views of the Lake of Menteith and historic Inchmahome Priory (founded 1238), a former home of Mary Queen of Scots. The cottages are very private and are situated in the grounds of our small private estate, “Mondhui”, in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

Dogs welcome (for an extra charge), to be kept on a lead at all times (sheep country). No smoking in the cottages. Guests can access the Rob Roy Way on foot directly from the cottages.

A Lovely Location...

“Mondhui” itself has been a settlement since prehistoric times and above the property there are “cup and rings” markings. Within the grounds is a duck flighting pond and beside the cottage there is a small pond. The area is a haven for birds and other wildlife including osprey, red kites, red squirrels, red deer, pine marten and badgers.

From the door of the cottage you can walk directly up into the Menteith Hills and join the Rob Roy Way with hundreds of miles of forest track easily accessible. It is in the perfect setting for those who love outdoor pursuits including walking, cycling, golf, pony trekking and fishing - the Lake of Menteith is Scotland’s premier trout fishing venue. It is also a great location for those simply wanting to chill out and enjoy the fabulous view of the lake.

Wonderful week at The Stable
From the moment we arrived at The Stable we couldn’t have felt more welcome. Ronnie met us with a tray of freshly baked scones (even one for the dog)! which were delicious. As were the scones Ronnie dropped in for us every day. The accommodation has everything you need, was lovely, warm and cosy and has a beautiful view in a peaceful location. We will definitely be back here. We have never stayed anywhere with such hospitable hosts, we really were treated like family! Lots of helpful walking booklets etc in the cottage which we used as well as plenty of recommendations from Ronnie. Thanks Ronnie and Laura for a perfect week.
